quartiers des spectacles

For more than a century, the urban quadrilateral now known as the Quartier des spectacles, bounded by Sherbrooke Street, René-Lévesque Boulevard, City Councillors Street and Saint-Hubert Street, has been Montréal’s culture and entertainment heart.

Place des Arts is the hub of this district, which is home to nearly 80 other cultural venues.

The Quartier des spectacles also comprises several public spaces around Place des Arts, including Place des Festivals and Promenade des artistes. Come winter and summer, these sites are the scene of a vast range of cultural events and activities, including:

•    Festival International de Jazz de Montréal
•    FrancoFolies de Montréal
•    Festival Juste pour rire and Just for Laughs Festival
•    21 swings
•    Maëstro
•    Luminothérapie
