Salle Claude-Léveillée is named in honour of the pioneering artist who was the first Québec-born chansonnier to play Place des Arts. With its 128 seats, it is Place des Arts’ most intimate venue, notable for its small four-by-five-metre thrust stage. The room is dedicated primarily to showcasing francophone song. The SACEF (Société pour l'avancement de la chanson d’expression française) organizes its Weekends de la chanson Québecor here, as well as the annual Ma Première Place des Arts competition, which promotes young, up-and-coming singer/songwriters.
